OUR VALUES

Excellence

At Kids ELC, we are committed to a continuous state of excellence throughout everything that we do. We actively seek feedback to grow, and we set and achieve ambitious goals. We are passionate about early learning, children, families, and service excellence. We are determined to serve our families through innovation, continuous improvement, an intense focus on the child’s needs, and a dedication to meet those needs with a sense of nurturing. For us, excellence is not only a value; it is a discipline and a means for making the world a better place.

Connection

Brené Brown said, “I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.”

Relationships are pivotal at Kids ELC and we invest time, energy, and attention into the relationships that nourish and strengthen our children and their families, our educators, and our communities. Connection helps us to feel responsible – for ourselves and for each other. Without connection, this feeling of responsibility can fade and we may lose sight of our shared purpose and values.

Responsibility

At Kids ELC, our value of responsibility gives us a determination to leave things better than we found them. Creating the future we want requires us to accept responsibilities outside of our comfort zones. Although meeting our commitments is hugely important we bear another responsibility, that is to invest in ourselves and in each other. When we can free our imagination and refresh our minds, we restore perspective and reduce stress. We find time and space to explore new ways to collaborate, be creative and enjoy ourselves to the benefit of our mission.

We are advocates for the rights of children, and this is a responsibility that we take very seriously.

Courage

Courage is something that everybody wants – an attribute of good character that makes us worthy of respect. Yet courage is not just physical bravery. History books tell colorful tales of social activists, who chose to speak out against injustice at great personal risk. Entrepreneurs such as Steve Jobs and Walt Disney, who took financial risks to follow their dreams and innovate, are like modern-day knights, exemplifying the rewards and public accolades that courage can bring.

At Kids ELC, we believe that courage is defined by feeling fear yet choosing to act, while following your heart and persevering in the face of adversity. We believe that courage is standing up for what is right. We endeavour to expand our horizons, letting go of the familiar. It is these attributes of courage that we teach to the children who attend our centres.

Innovation

Innovation is the life blood of every organisation. It drives growth, development, and prosperity. At Kids ELC we encourage a willingness to experiment, the opportunity to fail forward, and open communication. We embrace co-creation and open innovation opportunities with our educators, children, and their families. We aim to innovate every day, and to be the change that we seek in our industry.

Delight

Delight is a fundamental feeling that is hard to define but that people desire to experience. By going above and beyond to create memorable experiences for our children, families and our educators, Kids ELC aims create delight, enchantment and wonderment throughout our centres. Our goal is to be the source of happiness and charm for all who interact with our organisation while focusing on the needs, interests, and development of our most important customers – our children.

Imagination

Imagination is the ability to form mental pictures or ideas in the mind. Everybody has the ability to imagine, but imagination becomes powerful when you turn it into manifestation. Every material thing that was created by humans was first imagined. Creation begins in the mind before it becomes physical. If the Wright Brothers never imagined the airplane in their minds, history would have been changed.

At Kids ELC, we value creativity, ingenuity, and thinking outside of the box as a valuable building block for a child’s development. Imaginative and creative play is how children learn about the world around them… Imagining, trying new ways of doing things, and experimenting help develop critical thinking in children and foster creative problem solving.
